| The efficiency of the
homes we build is measured using the SAP (Standard Assessment
Procedure). This rates the energy efficiency of a home from
0 - 100 with 0 being inefficient and 100 being the most efficient.
The average SAP rating of a Bellway home completed in the year
ending July 2009 is 85.3. In seeking to make our homes more
energy efficient we are increasingly using alternative sources
of energy. This year nearly 500 homes have been built incorporating
a renewable energy source such as solar panels or heat pumps.
The inclusion of renewable heat technology will continue to
expand as we move towards creating more homes to Level 3 of
the Code for Sustainable Homes. |
