Our management teams throughout the Bellway Group source and select products both locally and nationally through group wide purchasing arrangements. These are focused on the primary products that contribute to the development of new homes such as timber, plasterboard and white goods. With around 200 sites throughout the country we use many thousands of components. In sourcing these products we develop mutually advantageous relationships with our suppliers and contractors. Through these relationships we are able to factor improvements throughout the supply chain. The close collaboration we have with our suppliers has ensured that we maintain consistently high standards of engineering quality and construction, ensuring the timely completion of developments across the Group.
Our environmental integrity depends on that of our suppliers. A review of our 20 key suppliers indicated that they all had in place an environmental policy and that a majority were either certified to ISO 14001 or were working towards this position. In addition we have identified specific initiatives demonstrating the extent to which our suppliers are working to reduce their effects upon the environment. |
